Held from August 10th to 14th, HIMUN2016 asked how we could communicate better with the world, or how we could better “Forge a Connection”. 6 committees options, 3 Chinese (the United Nations Environment Programme, the United Nations Security Council, and the 1945 Chongqing Negotiations), 2 English (the Human Rights Council and the United States Senate in the 1950s), and 1 bilingual Media Press Center were available to the delegates. Honored speakers at HIMUN2016 include Ms. Sayuri Konno, Vice Consul of the Japanese Consulate in Qingdao and Dr. Kai Sun, associate professor of Law and Politics at the Ocean University of China and associate researcher at the Institute of Law and Politics in Polar Region.
